WORK WITH ME
I’ve worked at the intersection of music, education, and community for 20 years and feel passionately about making people feel heard, supported, and empowered in their creative practice.
Artist Mentoring/Coaching
I work with artists to navigate the pressures around maintaining a creative practice in the modern world.
This might look like:
- helping you to develop a more sustainable practice (looking at your workflow, available resources, individual needs)
- developing longer term pathways with achievable, meaningful goals
- helping you to navigate your evolving identity as an artist
- practical solutions for managing your time
- being a sounding board for creative ideas
- needs-mapping and strategies for neurodivergent creatives
My approach to mentoring is informed by my own lived experience and work history, as well as professional training as an educator and neurodiversity coach.
“Working with Em was so helpful - she tuned in to really listen to my story, and met me in that context to help me make sense of my creative life going forward. Her empathy, suggestions and our conversations around an artistic life helped ground me while trying to finish my first album, and also gave me reassurance. She’s a great sounding board, and I found her mentorship invaluable.”

Writing Strategy for Small Arts Organisations/Initiatives
I work with small arts organisations, grassroots projects, and community-led initiatives who want to consolidate or grow in a way that feels meaningful and aligned.
This might incude:
- noticing patterns in how your project has been developing over time - assessing what has worked and what hasn’t
- clarifying your values and what you actually want your business/initiative to become
- identifying what you want your own life to look like in terms of day to day considerations, time, money, long term lifestyle goals etc
- linking your project to the broader arts landscape to identify opportunities, partnerships etc
Facilitation/Workshops/Speaking
I believe that holding space for conversation in all of its potential awkwardness and messiness is the key to exciting and meaningful connection.
I love talking to creative people, especially in the following contexts:
- conducting live interviews
- facilitating workshops
- panel moderation
